All throughout history we have had many people cast doubt on the bible and the great God that inspired it. Many have called God a liar, twisting and contorting his words and actions without really understanding the biblical circumstance. This criticism is often to further their own agenda. In light of this slander and persecution of God those trusting in him must be steadfast. People must understand that the bible has been preached for thousand of years. The book of Genesis dating as early as 1450 B.C., and its stories dating as far back as 6000 B.C. contest to its age. The Bible is not a fairy tale. It is a truth that people have found strength in for thousands of years. Matthew 24:35 say’s “heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” The 40 penmen of the Bible where truly convinced that God was delivering to his creation a urgent message. 2 Peter 1:21 says, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” Most all of these holy men eventually died for their faith. We must understand that the Bible is not a new thing, it is though, a compilation of 66 books penned by 40 different men over thousands of years. This Holy book has stood the test of “time”. God word is something we can rely on no matter the circumstance. We must not allow people, no matter who they may be, to lure us away from Gods true purpose and the truth found in his word. 1 Corinthians 3:19 says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God…” Humanity must repent, turn away from the wisdom of this world, and realize that the God of this world will not be mocked. Galatians 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” In this life we are posed with all sorts if choices, some choices have greater repercussions than others, but none greater than this. When we say no to God we are saying that we can take care of ourselves, that we don’t need God, but the reality is that we all need God. The Bible says “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Just like food sustains our physical life, God and his truth sustains our eternal soul. We can not live without God. Listen, this is God’s creation and he can do what he wants with it. Thankfully he chose to sustain it and save it. It is our responsibility to find out who God is and what he want with our life. Understand that disobedience is sin and God will not tolerate sin. Remember, the choice is yours! The title of this article is Why Should I Trust The God Of The Bible. I hope to write a series of article that reveal the divine truth found in the Bible. In these articles I will expose the Logical, archaeological, historical, scientific, and prophetic evidence revealed to us. True biblical Christianity is not a leap of faith. Our mission is to equip the new testament believer with the proper tool to defended the truth that God has declared. It is our responsibility as believers to take God and his word seriously. This responsibility requires us to study Gods word and not only that, but to declare it in this journey call life. This means that true believers when challenged by skepticism and scoffing should be prepared to give an answer based on the truth of God holy inspired word. My conviction is that this mission will help you covey Gods word clear and concise with the hope that hearts will be touch and souls saved for the cause of Jesus Christ. My prayer is that this mission will not just touch lives, but change them.
MISSION 1Pet 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"
How Can I Be Saved?
Many have misrepresented the Bible on how to be saved. The Bible is very clear we can know that we a are saved. 1 John 5:13 says's "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." Gods plan is not that we should have to worry about our eternal soul all of our life. We can have peace with God. Phillipians 4:7 says "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." God gives a peace that can not be explained it can only be experienced.
1. Understand your problem. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."To be righteous is to be right with God and this verse tell us their is none right with God. The reality is, that mankind has a problem and that problem is sin. This sin has broken mankinds perfect relationship with God. Romans 3:23 says,"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Because of our sin we do not meet Gods standard. The problem is that God can not except sin. It is against his nature. Romans 5:12 says,"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Adams disobedience to God brought sin into the world. We can not change the fact that we are sinners. This very sin has brought the curse of death with it. Just like we can't change the fact that we are sinners, we also can not change the fact that we are going to die. It is a fact of life. Hebrews 9:27 says,"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." After this most certain death judgment comes. Revelations 20:12 says,"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." The Bible is clear that those not written in the Book of Life will be judged for their sin. They will judged according to their sinful works. Revelations reveal the end to those that find themselves at this judgment. Let me remind you that if you find yourself at this judgement your eternity is sealed. Revelations 20:14 says," And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." This is eternal seperation from God.
2. Understand God's Love. How do I get my name in the Book of Life? We must understant that God still loves us. Remember that God did not make us sinners, Adams disobedience did. Romans 5:19, says, "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners." Thankfully God has thrown us a life line. Romans 6:23 Says,"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God has given a way out of eternal death to eternal life. This is throught Jesus Christ. John 14:6 says,"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. God is offering a gift. A gift we do not desirve. This gift is eternal life. God extends his grace to all sinners.
3. Believe the Gospel Mark 1:15 says,"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." What is the Gospel? 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 says,"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you...By which also ye are saved...how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." Salvation is not man reaching up to God, but God reaching down to man. The Bible is clear that simply believeing in the finished work of Jesus Christ's death on the cross as payment for our sin saves us from eternal death in a place called hell. When we trust Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sin, was buried, and arose from the grave on the third day declaring that he has power over death we recieve the rigtheousness of Christ. When God looks down on those that believe in him he no longer sees our sin but the righteous of Christ upon us.
4. God's Simple Plan God saw the hopeless sinful state of mankind and sent his only son Jesus to save us from that sin. All we have to do is look back. Believeing is simple. To believe in something is to except it as truth. It is a change of mind. Going a different direction. Saying no to this world and yes to God. It's trusting in Jesus. Salvation is not in a prayer it's in a person. That person is Jesus Christ. You must believe your eternity depends on it.
